Details:

We will intend to run the following sports competitions:

Netball.
Five-a-side Footbakll
Volleyball.
Tug of War (subject to participation)
Boules.
Darts.
Cribbage.
Dominoes.

Floral

Theme: Harvest Wreath

Details:

The amount of time allowed for preparation will be 1 hour.
Accessories can be used, provided that they are within the allowed dimensions.
The competition is open to either sex.
All exhibits are to be identified by a number system.
Theme of the competition for 2024 is "Harvest Wreath"
Competitors who have signed in for the floral competition can work on their exhibit at any time during the allotted period.
The exhibit must be assembled in the rally marquee by the competitor. Previous prepared arrangements will not be allowed.
The exhibit must not exceed 2 feet cubed in size.
At the end of the hour all entries should be measured immediately with the frame, by the organizer after the competitors have left to ensure that at the end of the competition, all entries are legal. If at this time any part of the entry is outside the frame, that entry will be disqualified.
The Judge will be accompanied by a Nominated Welsh Centre Chairman or representative to ensure that the rules are interpreted correctly.

Cookery

Theme: Victoria Sponge

Details:

Theme should be available to prospective competitors prior to the event.
The competition is open to either sex.
The competition is based upon a given set recipe and to be cooked in the caravan on site. Recipe shall be provided on arrival.
All exhibits are to be identified by a number system.
The Judge will be accompanied by a Nominated Welsh Centre Chairman or representative to ensure that the rules are interpreted correctly.

Photography

Theme: Gates

Details:

Entries to be a maximum size of 8” x 6” (20.32cm x 15.24cm).
All exhibits are to be identified by a number system.
Exhibits can be Colour or Monochrome.
The theme for 2024 is "Gates"
Only one entry per person.
Exhibits may be mounted or un-mounted but not in a frame.
The competition is for Adults and Juniors as separate classes.
The Judge will be accompanied by a Nominated Welsh Centre Chairman or representative to ensure that the rules are interpreted correctly.

Homemade Beer Competition

Theme: N/A

Details:

All exhibits to be in clear plastic bottles, sealed with a screw top.
All exhibits to be identified by the number system only.
CLASSES:

Beer
Lager

Only one entry per class may be entered by each competitor.
All labels to be plain white and placed with lower edge approximately 1.5 inches from the bottom of the bottle. The label must carry only the class in which it is being entered, e.g. BEER, LAGER.
The Judge will be accompanied by a Nominated Welsh Centre Chairman or representative to ensure that the rules are interpreted correctly.

Homemade Wine Competition

Theme: N/A

Details:

All exhibits to be in clear glass bottles, sealed with a removable all plastic stopper.
All exhibits to be identified by the number system only.
CLASSES:

Dry Red Table Wine.
Dry White Table Wine.
Sweet Red Table Wine.
Sweet White Table Wine

Only one entry per class may be entered by each competitor.
All labels to be plain white and placed with lower edge approximately 1.5 inches from the bottom of the bottle. The label must carry only the class in which it is being entered, e.g. Sweet White, Dry Red etc.
The Judge will be accompanied by a Nominated Welsh Centre Chairman or representative to ensure that the rules are interpreted correctly.

Fancy Dress

Theme: Open Theme

Details:

There are no specific rules for the fancy dress compeition. The theme is open - you may come dressed according to any family friendly theme of your choosing.

A parade will be held and the judge will decide a winner.

Decorated Car

Theme: TBA at Opening Ceremony

Details:

Each Centre will choose a theme which will be handed in a sealed envelope to the Chairman of the WNC in the opening ceremony. One envelope will be chosen at random by the nominated guest and the theme announced at the opening ceremony.
Car is to be decorated within the Centre lines and must be mobile on completion.
Centres may enter as many exhibits as they wish.
Decorated Car should be normal towing vehicle, excluding commercial vehicles. This rule to be adhered to.
There must be a clear area of at least A4 size on the Driver’s side of the vehicle to enable communication between the Driver of the vehicle and a guide, while the vehicle is in motion.
That any walkers accompanying the decorated car must walk at the side and NOT in front of the moving vehicle.
Each Centre must ensure that its own vehicle conforms to all safety aspects in the rules before leaving Centre lines.
The competition organizing Centre to confirm all vehicles comply with all the rules before entry to the arena.
Prior to judging, all walkers to withdraw to a pre-designated area within the arena.
The Judge will be accompanied by a Nominated Welsh Centre Chairman or representative to ensure that the rules are interpreted correctly.

Crafts

Theme: Multiple, see below

Details:

The crafts competitions have a selection of themes, as follows:

Christmas Decorations (any material/any method)
Knitted or Crocheted Beanie Hat.
Wooden Love Spoon
Hand Made Cards - Theme: New Baby

Junior entry up to and including 17 years, any item from the above 4 adult categories.

Dog Show

Theme: N/A

Details:

Enter your dog in the Welsh National dog show and help your best friend compete to become "best dog"!

Welsh National Quiz

Theme: N/A

Details:

A Team shall consist of 4 members (either sex, any age).
Teams may nominate 1 reserve if they so wish, as all rounds will be played promptly and only a small time allowance will be granted.
Entry forms will be available from the Rally information office.
